BBI: Russian billionaires add $8.7 bln January–August
MOSCOW, Sep 3 (PRIME) -- The combined fortune of Russia’s 23 billionaires increased by U.S. $8.735 billion in January–August, Bloomberg said in a report accompanying its Bloomberg Billionaires Index (BBI) released on Monday.
The index is calculated basing on capitalization and financial reports of companies owned by the businessmen, or on a ratio between capitalization and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) or a ratio between a share price and earnings per share.
CEO of independent gas producer Novatek Leonid Mikhelson led with a $20.3 billion wealth, which has grown by $3.63 billion since the year start.
Alexei Mordashov, the majority shareholder of steelmaker Severstal, descended to the second position with a $19.8 billion wealth, rising by $108 million.
The fortune of Vladimir Lisin, the major beneficiary of steelmaker Novolipetsk Steel (NLMK), rose by $1.33 billion to $19.4 billion since the beginning of the year.
